The Central Atlantic magmatic province

Updated: Aug 9, 2022

Carbon sequestration technology requires suitable below-ground geology to capture and store carbon dioxide in a solid state.

According to Carbfix on December 22, 2021, the Florida Panhandle is part of the "Central Atlantic Magmatic Province" which is a Large Igneous Province where basalts and other suitable rocks for the Carbfix technology can be found.

This type of geology offers long-term storage of captured carbon below the ground for what scientists say can be thousands of years.
